This may look odd and downright funny and I certainly prefer to practice this walk in the privacy of my own home, but Groucho walking is becoming popular among people that exercise to lose weight. It is an excellent way to burn extra calories and build lower body strength, toning and sculpting your body.

According to the University of New Mexico program coordinator of exercise Len Kravitz PhD, groucho walking burns 50% more calories than normal walking.

Groucho walking builds up your lower torso strength and is great or knee and hip mobility.

Don’t try to go too low to start with. Building lower body strength takes time for those of us that are not used to exercising. Gradually you will build up to doing the groucho walking as shown in the video above.
